About the Mural: “1804″ was a very large mural - 16 feet wide x 6.5 feet - mixed media oil pastels, acrylics, cut paper on black board. “1804″ is my tribute to Haiti / Haitians. Themes: The beauty of Haiti. The Suffering of Haitians. Refugees “Boat People” sent back home to die, or found drowning for a dream… I worked on this over 2 years from 2000 to 2002.
