Press Release
Patricia Brintle
Flavors of Haiti Gallery presents the vibrant and diverse art of Patrice Brintle, a series of paintings which look to celebrate the everyday occurrences that make life beautiful.
Born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti Patricia Brintle draws inspiration from all aspects of her life and upbringing. The strength and joy of the Haitian people is reflected in the vivid colors and subject matter portrayed in her paintings. Her Painting style is varied and reflects what she is feeling at that moment. Influenced both by personal and social experiences, many things may trigger an emotion that will result in a painting; world events, a visit from a friend, a sunset a picture in a magazine, even a dream. Brintle favors bright, lively and opulent colors and uses much symbolism in her work. Her medium is as varied as the subjects, but she prefers to work in acrylics because of its diversity.
For the artist, the canvas has become a way that the viewer can share her story.
Her art has grown and matured with each obstacle encountered and overcome and like the people of Haiti, it is always joyous and filled with hope.
