when love was born
i poured the love out of my heart and filled her cup...
she spit it away
when love was reborn
i poured the love out of my heart and filled her cup...
she pissed it away
when love is born again
i poured the love out of my heart and filled her cup...
she soaked it up like the desert and blew away
one could say i wasted my time to fill these cups
i could have kept it inside...
all stored away to warm a distant chicago winter...
but love is not like wine... it grows bitter...
what the mouth finds awful... it spits
what the body finds toxic... it flushes out
and you can never... ever flood a desert...
this fantastic romantic fantasy of turning a desert into a rainforest...
is what we come up with to claim, "I Love You..."
we say it many times a day, hundreds of time last week...
yet why am i so empty now... I... LOVE... U... neediness...
is it part of a cycle to feel that i need her so bad?
needing what is missing...
needing what i feel separated from...
and everything feels so... so STRONG!
Soulmates... she... a friend of my soul...
would it be a true novel romance
without the mellodrama of her walking away...
hearing my heart sink in, beneath my ribs...
and singing, "You're Gone..."
whose cup shall i fill now...
i worry not... for i know this girl who deserves my love...
i've never seen her hold out her cup...
for she has no cup.
upon the next rebirth
when i pour out my heart...
she will be the stream, the river, connected to the sea...
becoming a small part of a vast ocean...
i will pour myself in her... no vessels, no cups...
my love not needed nor missed but feel like i've always been part of a whole.
in this vast ocean... two lovers were always one...
She... not only a friend of my soul, but together one soul
Love is no longer a cup to be filled...
Love is all around...
